Given the publication of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) in which it warned of the transfer of police investigators assigned to said institution, the National Police responded with a statement in which it assured that the number of servers remains the same.

In the FGE statement, the State was made responsible for the security of the Attorney General and the vulnerability of the ongoing investigations.
“The number of National Police personnel for the Prosecutor’s Office is maintained. The same number of researchers is maintained. The same number of personnel is maintained for the security of the Attorney General,” the publication stated.
Police order the temporary transfer of investigators assigned to the State Attorney General’s Office
The Police explained that this decision is based on the fact that the personnel have completed their term and therefore they proceeded to rotate the uniformed officers.
In addition, it was reported that 80% of the Legislative Escort, 90% of the Internal Revenue Service (SRI), 90% of the Constitutional Court, 90% of Inhepol, 100% of Galapagos, 100% of Border Control (biannually ), 100% of the prison contingency personnel, 98% of the DMQ transit service, 92% from Tungurahua, 95% from Chimborazo, 90% from Sucumbíos, 90% from Esmeraldas, 90% from Cañar, etc.
During 2022, the Police reported that they carried out 6,361 rotations as part of the Rotation Plan. So far this year there have been 2,983 transfers.
Guild of the Guayas Prosecutor’s Office rejected that President Guillermo Lasso had called the prosecutor who refrained from accusing Júnior Roldán “corrupt”
The reasons for these transfers are different: medical, domestic calamity, change to the new structure, relief of position and function, institutional need, rotation plan and life risk.
Finally, the Police assured that all the personnel willing to carry out the new functions are reliable and that they have the same investigative capacity.
The Prosecutor’s Office, for its part, warned that in the current investigation processes, new agents must start from scratch, putting the cases at risk. (YO)
