Official information from the National Electoral Council (CNE) indicates that the processing of 100% of the scrutiny records of all dignities in 16 provinces of the country has concluded.
The records in eight provinces remain to be processed. These are Guayas, Pichincha, Los Ríos, Manabí, Loja, El Oro, Esmeraldas and Morona Santiago.
The provinces where the scrutiny concluded correspond to Azuay, Bolívar, Cañar, Carchi, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, Galapagos, Imbabura, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, Tungurahua, Santa Elena, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Zamora Chinchipe and Sucumbíos.
Once this processing phase is completed, the challenge stage begins, said counselor José Cabrera, for which the plenary session of the Electoral Council will meet this Saturday, February 11, starting at 6:00 p.m. to install the public scrutiny hearing. of the elections of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control and referendum 2023.
The agenda includes the examination of the scrutiny records drawn up by the provincial electoral and special boards from abroad.
Once the scrutiny phase is closed, in two days, the CNE will notify the political organizations and candidates that participated in the electoral process on Sunday, February 5, so that they can present their objections to the numerical results.
On February 5, 2023, the CNE called for sectional elections to designate prefects, mayors, councilors, members of the parish councils, a referendum and designate seven members of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS).
In this scrutiny phase, the authorities of the Council have denounced before the State Attorney General’s Office an alleged parallel computer center that was managed by the director of the Guayas Provincial Delegation, and requested that the corresponding investigations be initiated and this fact be clarified, as well as that determines those responsible involved in this act.
