A 16-year-old teenager was arrested in a chase on Avenida Casuarina, in the northwest of Guayaquil, after allegedly, together with other subjects, he shot at a group of uniformed National Police officers who were operating in that area.

The event was recorded on the night of this Friday, February 10, at the height of the Casuarina market.
“We managed to observe two motorcycles with two silhouettes of people, (who) upon noticing the police presence proceeded to cause several detonations with a firearm against our integrity,” said one of the uniformed officers.
In that attack, police officer Bryan Bonilla Gallegos was injured, who was transferred to the National Police hospital.
Colonel Fabary Montalvo, head of Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón), stated that after the attack the alleged antisocials fled and abandoned a black motorcycle.
He added that reinforcements were immediately requested with other units in the sector and they managed to intercept one of the subjects in the vicinity of a gas station in the area.
There they realized that he was a minor and, acting in flagrante, he coordinated with specialized units for the intervention of a home that was related to this case, in Socio Vivienda 2.

“When entering said address and carrying out a thorough search, it is possible to find various indications, such as firearms, such as rifles, bulletproof vest, police clothing and ammunition.
