International education and training has long been one of the TaiwanICDF’s core operations. If you meet the requirements, you can apply on the organization’s website until March 15, 2023.
Which are the requirements?
- Be a citizen of a country on the ICDF Taiwan Scholarship Eligible Countries List, and meet any specific criteria established by your country and/or government for citizenship.
- Have a baccalaureate certificate, university degree or postgraduate degree.
- Certificate of proficiency in the English language of the last 3 years, for example, TOEFL iBT (75 or higher) or IELTS (5.5 or higher), etc.
What benefits do ICDF Scholarships offer for undergraduate, masters and doctoral studies in Taiwan?

- Visa procedures and legalization of documents at no cost

- Insurance: While in Taiwan, in addition to the mandatory student safety insurance established by the Ministry of Education, each student must be insured for accidental and necessary medical coverage.
- Book Costs: The purchase of textbooks as required by instructors will be subject to the approval of the principal of the student’s institute.
Additionally, a monthly allowance for food and other expenses according to the following details:
a) Bachelor’s Program Four (4) years: NT$12,000.00 (approximately $430) monthly
b) Master’s Program Two (2) years: NT$15,000 (approximately $540) monthly
c) Doctoral Program Four (4) years: NT$17,000 (approximately US$610) monthly

How to apply?
- Those interested must carry out the admission process to the university of their interest in parallel to the application of this scholarship, according to the dates and requirements established by the university.
- The documents must be delivered, before March 15, 2023, to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in your country.
The package must contain the following documents:
- Application form generated by the ICDF online system, duly signed;
- Certificate of receipt of your application, issued by the corresponding university in Taiwan;
- Passport copy valid for more than 6 months
- Copy of the academic diploma of the highest level achieved and transcript of grades, duly authenticated by the corresponding authorities and translated into English.
- Copy of the certificate of proficiency in the English language, for example, TOEFL iBT (75 or higher) or IELTS (5.5 or higher), etc.
- Two letters of recommendation in English from whomever the applicant deems appropriate.
- Study plan in Taiwan.
After the second review has been carried out in cooperation with all partner universities, Taiwan ICDF will announce its list of fellows, in principle, no later than June 10 of each year. Successful candidates will receive a letter of acceptance through the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/Consulate General/Representative Office to whom they originally applied. (YO)
