An apartment caught fire in Quito; three minors were rescued

The emergency occurred in a building located on 10 de Agosto avenue, to the north.

An apartment in a building located on 10 de Agosto and Rumipamba avenues, in the north of Quito, was consumed by flames. The Integrated Security Service ECU911 reported that the emergency was reported at 7:50 p.m. on November 11. The place was attended by members of the Quito Fire Department (CBQ), the Metropolitan Transit Agency and the National Police.

Due to the magnitude of the event, traffic on 10 de Agosto avenue, in the north-south direction, was temporarily suspended. The residents of the building were evacuated.

According to official information, three minors were rescued from inside the burning building. They were affected by the smoke and received medical attention.

The fire could be controlled around 9:30 p.m. At the moment it is unknown what caused the fire. (I)
