Latacunga
Two charred bodies were left in the middle of a community square in the Toacazo parish, Latacunga canton, Cotopaxi province, after an angry mob set them on fire.
The victims would be two foreigners who were apparently involved in a crime.
One of the alleged criminals was previously hit with a log on a piece of land, while he was surrounded by some people who asked him to declare where the weapon with which they were allegedly going to commit a crime is.
This fact was recorded in part of a video that has gone viral.
Four subjects were arrested when they distributed threats of “vaccines” on a trike in Flor de Bastión
Then it is observed that they find the weapon, one of the citizens proceeds to take it and shows that it is loaded. There the threat to burn it is heard, as well as to call the National Police, although someone warns against it.
In another video, the same subject can be seen tied up with his hands behind him, in the middle of a mob. You can also see someone with a bottle of liquid, which would be gasoline.
According to preliminary versions, three subjects made an attempt on the life of a person in front of the fuel station in Toacazo, but at the moment of firing the weapon jammed and they could not commit the crime.
Man who had been reported missing in Manabí was found burned
After the fact, some men had gotten up to go after the presumed criminals, who, after being burned, were placed in some bags.
Diocelina N., a resident of Toacazo, said that she did not witness the event because she was at work in Latacunga, but indicated that perhaps the town acted in this way, tired of the robberies and crimes that are permanently committed in the parish.
“We are fed up with so much theft of cattle and in our homes, also of rapes and nobody does anything,” he added.
For the following hours, a pronouncement of the Cotopaxi Indigenous and Campesino Movement (MICC) is announced in relation to the events in the Toacazo parish. (YO)
