Andrés Eduardo Intriago Vélez died when he was taken in an ambulance to a hospital, after he was attacked with firearms.
The assassination-style attack occurred at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at a bus stop in the Abdón Calderón parish.
Intriago was at the site along with other people when several shots were fired from a vehicle that arrived at the scene, mainly against this man.
After that incident, those who were at the scene made calls to ECU911 to send an ambulance. Help arrived and still alive, Intriago was taken to Portoviejo, but about 10 kilometers from the Abdón Calderón parish, the health personnel accompanying the wounded man detected that he no longer had vital signs.

The ambulance stopped its journey at the height of the San Jorge site, a few kilometers from the center of the Portoviejo canton, to wait for the Forensic Sciences vehicle that took the body to Manta.
Intriago had no criminal record and lived in the Abdón Calderón parish in Portoviejo. (YO)
