To resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, it is necessary to hold a peace conference based on the “peace formula” of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French leader Emmanuel Macron said before a meeting with Zelensky and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
According to RBC, Macron assured that France intends to seek peace in Ukraine, which “will serve the common desire of European countries to achieve cohesion, unity and solidarity of countries on the continent.” According to him, “an extremely wide list of international partners” should take part in the peace conference.
At the same time, Macron also announced his readiness to “resolutely support Ukraine to the end, until victory and until the restoration of its legal rights.”
Zelensky presented ten points of the “peace formula” for Ukraine last November during the G20 summit. The plan involves radiation, food and energy security, the release of all prisoners, the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities, counteracting ecocide, preventing escalation and fixing that the conflict is over.
Previously, the Russian side ruled out the adoption of the plan proposed by Zelensky, as well as any other that would not take into account Moscow’s sovereignty over the Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
