Sandy Gómez won the sectional elections in Balao. The candidate of the Citizen Revolution, list 5, won the elections with 3,806 votes, that is, with 31.83%.


The result allows her to become the first mayor to have that jurisdiction of Guayas, whose activities are fishing and agriculture.
In that canton, 13,528 people voted and there was an absenteeism of 1,798.

In second place was Stalyn Lucas, from the Patriotic Society, who obtained 2,799 votes, the equivalent of 23.41%.
Remigio Molina, who was mayor of Balao, obtained 956 votes, and came in fourth place.
Gómez said that he is aware that the road is not easy, but he urged unity in order to move the canton forward. “At this moment there are no longer political colors that divide us, today we are a single team who will fight tirelessly for better days,” he stressed.
She indicated that it will be an honor to be the first woman to reach the mayor’s chair. “I will show that women also have the ability to manage and guide an entire society towards progress and development because we can,” she said.

As part of his campaign promises, Gómez assured that he would build the large Bahía Balao square, where entrepreneurs and merchants will be able to access commercial premises.
He said that the space will have stores for various categories: clothing, food, technology, bookstore, entertainment. (YO)
