A multiple crash was recorded at noon this Wednesday, February 8, on the Babahoyo-Jujan Pan-American Highway, La Carmela sector.
Three public transport buses (one urban and two interprovincial), a car and a motorcycle were involved in the accident.
Witnesses alerted to the accident indicating that several people were injured and trapped between the twisted metal of the vehicles. The Ecuadorian Transit Commission (CTE) confirmed the multiple accident.

In videos that were broadcast on social networks, one of the people was observed under a tire, while another injured person was helped by medical personnel. The latter had injuries and blows to the head.
The three people who were injured were transferred to Babahoyo health homes. The driver of the motorcycle died in the accident.

From the Operations Room of the ECU 911 Babahoyo Local Center, coordination was made with response units such as the Ministry of Public Health, the Babahoyo Fire Department, the Jujan Fire Department, the Ecuadorian Traffic Commission and the Babahoyo Municipal Traffic Department.
The road was partially closed while the skills and investigations were carried out to determine the causes of the accident. (YO)
