An agreement was signed on the creation, reconstruction and operation of the airfield and air terminal infrastructure of the Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg for a period up to 2060. The corresponding document was approved at a meeting of representatives of Northern Capital Air Gate LLC and Pulkovo Airport JSC.
The Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov explained that the main task is to ensure the timely expansion of the airport and high-quality passenger service with increasing traffic. Passenger traffic indicators are key for the phased implementation of the second stage of the airport development, the head of the city noted. He stressed that the project will be financed entirely by private investment.
The second phase of Pulkovo’s development includes the creation of new boarding galleries with boarding bridges, comfortable zones for passengers and special service areas for certain categories of passengers.
Reconstruction of individual aprons of the airport will expand the possibilities for receiving and parking aircraft, specialized areas for anti-icing treatment of aircraft will significantly increase the regularity of flights in the winter.
