In St. Petersburg, a man was detained who attacked people at a bus stop with a knife

Petersburg police detained a man suspected of attacking people at a bus stop. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as a result of the attack, one person died, and another was hospitalized in serious condition.

According to law enforcement officers, the attack took place early in the morning on February 7. At about 6:15 a.m., at a bus stop near house 16 on Timurovskaya Street in the Kalininsky district of the city, a man with a knife attacked his father and son, citizens of one of the neighboring countries. Both men were seriously injured and were hospitalized. Soon the 28-year-old young man died from his injuries, his 62-year-old father survived and is in a serious condition in the hospital.

A criminal case was opened for attempted murder. Soon, the criminal investigation officers identified the suspect, he turned out to be a 30-year-old resident of the Kalininsky district. According to the police, in the morning before the attack, the man left the house, went into the neighboring front door, changed his clothes and went towards Timurovskaya Street. After the attack, he ran into the entrance of the house on Bryantseva Street and changed clothes again, after which he returned to the scene of the crime and wandered around the surrounding courtyards for some time, and then returned home.

The suspect was detained late in the evening on February 7. To date, he has been transferred to the investigating authorities for procedural actions and establishing the motive for the crime.
