In this road section, 23 critical points generated in previous winters with subsidence, landslides and damage to the asphalt layer were identified.

The claim has been permanent from drivers and tourists who forcefully slow down in those affected sections to avoid damage to vehicles or traffic accidents.

The provincial authority emphasized that, if the MTOP cannot carry out this work, that they hand over the competence to the Prefecture of Esmeraldas, for the connection with the Quinindé-Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas highway, of 87.2 kilometers, which was built with cement.

While Assemblyman Ortiz said that he is managing with the Foreign Ministry and the MTOP the reopening of the Tumaco-Mataje binational bridge, which remains closed due to sanitary restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
