Coliseo de Feder, from the University of Guayaquil, registered a high electoral absence

The University of Guayaquil was one of the electoral precincts of District 3. In this place, young people and adults gathered to exercise their right to vote in the sectional elections 2023 this Sunday, February 5.

With ten minutes to go before the voting closed, the exteriors of the faculties seemed like a competition, with people running from one side to the other in search of their vote-receiving board (JRV). “Run, because we are going to close,” the military expressed from the gates of the enclosures.

There was only a minute left when a young woman arrived at the Feder Coliseum to vote. In a hurry and asking how she voted, she complied with her right to vote and was saved from being fined 10% of the SBU. With the same luck, another young woman did not run, to whom the doors were closed while she was in line for suffrage. she got a presentation certificate when it was already 17:09.

And it is that in this enclosure the term of the voting was fulfilled at 17:00, to quickly begin with the respective process for the counting of votes. JRV members placed insulating tape around each table and, locked in it, tore up the empty ballots and classified the ballots in the ballot boxes by authority.

As Mayra Ortiz, coordinator of the venue, indicated to this newspaper, a regular number of voters came to this coliseum, so estimates that there was an electoral absence of 70%, while some 200 people were not registered. Ortiz assures that the tables were set at 07:00 and that the biggest turnout was from 10:00 to 11:30.

At this moment, shortly after 6:00 p.m., the scrutiny continues in the Feder Coliseum, in the presence of military personnel and observers from different political parties. (YO)
