Manuel Mungabusi is one of the 171 registrants (70 men and 101 women) who voted this Sunday in the two meetings that were installed in the Huayna Cápac intercultural educational unit, in the Cuatro Esquinas community of the Santa Rosa parish, in Tungurahua.

Although he knows that his vote is optional, he wanted to be part of the electoral process, because he believes that it is important to support democracy.

Nancy Chimbo, table coordinator of the educational unit, said that the turnout of the citizens to consign the votes was little during the day, taking into account that there are not many who vote in the place.

He said that the two meetings opened normally, without setbacks. In those meetings, the majority is indigenous population from the communities surrounding Cuatro Esquinas, but who prefer to vote in Santa Rosa.

There were citizens who came to vote and said that it was important to comply with the electoral process to obtain the certificate. Some took advantage of the fact that there is a Sunday fair in Cuatro Esquinas to go out to vote and do the shopping for the family.

They hope that the authorities that are elected will work for the well-being of the community. In the Juan Benigno Vela educational unit, of the parish of the same name, there was a greater presence of people who came to fulfill their civic duty.
