A police officer from the Kaluga region may be prosecuted after the death of a one-year-old boy. According to Channel Five, the child died of starvation and lay dead in the suitcase for a whole week.
The tragedy occurred in Obninsk a year ago. In mid-January, a young woman turned to law enforcement officers. According to her, because of the slammed door, she cannot get into the apartment where her eight-month-old child is.
According to the channel, an employee of the local police went to the place. She was aware that the baby was being raised by a negligent mother. She also has two other blood children, whom she had previously abandoned. But these circumstances, according to Channel Five, passed by the attention of the inspector.
The woman also did not delve into the essence of the story, and in the documents she did not begin to describe an objective picture of what was happening: for example, the sanitary conditions of the dwelling where the child lived. After some time, the corpse of a child was found in this apartment, hidden in a suitcase. The cause of death was food malnutrition. As Channel Five clarifies, the woman simply decided not to feed her son. When the child died, she hid it in a suitcase and kept it there for another week.
After the incident, the boy’s mother was prosecuted for the murder, but the inspector, who could have prevented the tragedy, was not prosecuted until recently. It is noted that a criminal case against her was initiated the day before. The investigation believes that the inspector deliberately concealed the facts of torturing the child.
