A night of terror lived the dispatchers of three gas stations in the city that were assaulted on the night of Wednesday, February 1 by armed individuals who beat them and took the money they had in their pockets as a result of the sales made in the previous hours.
The investigations were initiated by the authorities, but those who work in these places are asking for more action from the Police.
There were three service stations that were robbed between 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. this Wednesday.
In the northern zone, they robbed the station located in the Quinta Chica sector and another on Gil Ramírez Dávalos avenue, while in the Center the antisocials went to the one located on Paseo Tres de Noviembre, Sagrados Corazones school sector.
An employee of one of the places affected said that the event lasted three minutes and on the video surveillance cameras it was observed that around 9:30 p.m. three subjects entered walking through a secondary street, then subdued the vendors with firearms. , they beat one who resisted and fled with the money.
They could not be recognized because they covered their faces with a mask and ski mask.
The estimated amount of damage in that business is $400. In this business, according to its employees, this type of crime is a concern, because previously the sector was relatively calm without events of this type.
While another dispatcher from another of the affected gas stations recounted that the robbery here was around 10:30 p.m. and the antisocials also took around $400.
In this case, the antisocials arrived in a car and after assaulting them with guns and knives they withdrew. This server added that “from time to time” the police presence is noticeable, for which reason he also asked for more support from the uniformed officers, considering that in these businesses, a lot of money is made and is open 24 hours a day.
Regarding the mishap that occurred at the station located on Avenida Gil Ramírez, the National Police reported that -based on the versions obtained- a patrol was immediately carried out to try to locate the antisocials, but until 10:00 this Thursday they were unsuccessful.
At this site, the dispatcher received a blow to the chest, but after receiving attention from the Red Cross paramedics, it was determined that he is stable, although emotionally affected.
For his part, Carlos Salazar, representative of the Association of Service Stations of Cuenca, considered that they and all citizens are “without protection” because crime is “doing its own thing.”
He recalled that since last October they asked the National Government for support with more constant military or police protection, but they never received an answer.
After talking with the affected partners, they told him similar stories, that armed people arrived at the site and walked, there was no record of a vehicle in which they fled, at least in the main cameras.
Also recently there was an assault on a minimarket of one of the gas stations with an amount greater than $1,000, the owner did not want to talk about this business because he was afraid of exposing himself. (YO)
