This is the procedure to avoid a fine in Quito if you did a vehicle inspection in other cantons

The vehicle technical review (RTV) and registration process in Quito began, as in the rest of the country, this Wednesday, February 1. The vehicles required to carry out this procedure during this month are those with plates ending in the digit 1.

Silvana Vallejo, director of the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT), pointed out that they have carried out the respective tests to avoid the inconvenience caused during the previous year in the system.

He also mentioned that the failures occurred because there were lagging cases from 2020 and 2021.

However, there are special measures for vehicles that registered in other cantons.

Vehicle owners who have passed the vehicle inspection in other Quito centers will have no problem carrying out the regular procedure.

In the case of having passed the vehicle inspection and registered in other cantons, without a technical inspection, a fine of $50 will appear.

In these cases they must register in a form that will appear on the main page of the AMT. In this format, they will provide information on their license plate number, names, chassis number, telephone number and a PDF document of registration or approval elsewhere, for verification.

appointment scheduling

As of noon on Monday, January 30, the website was already available for consulting pending values and scheduling appointments at the six review centers.

Each day 3,000 shifts will be assigned and the priority will be for vehicles with license plates ending in 1.

But those who wish to advance this process can also do so as long as there is availability.

Attention in these centers will be from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00. 3,000 daily shifts will be enabled, Vallejo said.

The review center that was set up in Bicentennial Park will no longer be available.

The authorized centers will be Guamaní, Guajaló, Los Chillos, La Florida, San Isidro de El Inca and Carapungo.

The director of the AMT also stated that the registration process must be carried out online, and that the circulation permit will be sent within a maximum of 48 to 72 hours.

These are the two main roads in Quito that will be closed from Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 January

For the transfer of domain, they must carry out the process in person, in Quitumbe and Bicentenario. (YO)
