The images of a truck completely consumed by flames disturbed the residents of the Pifo parish, in the northeast of Quito.

The heavy vehicle caught fire on the Palugo-Tababela highway. The emergency call was reported at 10:56 this Wednesday, February 1.
The driver and his companion were treated at the scene by members of the Quito Fire Department (CBQ), according to the report of said institution.
The victims were discharged at the scene, in stable health conditions.
Several drivers stopped their vehicles and began to record the scene with their cell phones. The car can began to bend from the flames.
National Police agents closed traffic in the area to prevent the fire from reaching another vehicle.
For this emergency it was necessary to use a tanker, a mother vehicle, an ambulance and a patrol car.
According to information from the Police, the truck was transporting fabrics, filters and cans with flammable products.
From there it is presumed that the fire was formed, which quickly spread throughout the car.
The authorities did not confirm if there was an accident before the explosion or if it was generated from the cargo that the car was carrying.
Municipality of Quito offered to serve 10 roads in the area affected by the flood in La Gasca and La Comuna
The burned metals of what was left of the vehicle were removed from the road and traffic was enabled.
According to ECU911, during the month of January there were six emergencies related to vehicular fires in Zone 9. (YO)
