Mayors of Machala and Newark signed a twinning agreement

In the North American town there is an important colony of Machaleños and they, with the intention of getting closer to their land, created this agreement.

A twinning agreement was signed by the mayor of Machala, Dario Macas, his counterpart from Newark (New Jersey, USA), Ras Baraka, and the local councilor Luis Quintana, in order to coordinate plans in favor of the inhabitants of both cities.

The agreement, which was signed on November 8, also seeks to promote culture and solidarity between the two cities and also to position Machala internationally.

For the mayor of Machala, this agreement constitutes a showcase to show the progress of the Orense capital in matters of entrepreneurship, commerce, tourism and gastronomy. “This is a historic day, in which we show the integration between our countries and our cities, how not to be happy and excited to envision a better future for Machala, through this twinning with the city of Newark that has the objective to walk together for progress, “he said.

He stressed that the capital of Orense presents itself to the world as a city in full development. “We are looking for ways of progress that benefit our beloved city, leading us to be one of the most prosperous cities in the region and placing it in the place it deserves,” added the Machalean authority.
