The Tax Agency and the Civil Guard of Spain announced the seizure of a drug shipment in Spain.
The authorities detailed that 1,340 kilos of cocaine from a shipment from Guayaquil were found inside containers of sacks of cocoa powder.
The contaminated bags had been located in the deepest part of the containers under the blind hook modality. The agents had learned that a criminal organization was seeking to introduce hidden cocaine using this method.

“From the investigations carried out, it was learned that a merchant ship, coming from Guayaquil (Ecuador) bound for the port of Barcelona, ​​was transporting containers that could contain drugs hidden inside,” the Tax Agency said in a statement.
As soon as the shipment arrived, agents checked the bags. This situation led to the opening of an investigation to find out to whom the drug was directed and also who made the shipment.
Francisco Botana, spokesman for the Civil Guard in Barcelona, ​​said in statements to cope that the person responsible for shipping the cocoa sacks was not aware that the cargo had been contaminated. (YO)
