A study by researchers at Imperial College London found that women who develop ovarian cancer may experience symptoms of indigestion.

As reported by MedikForum, ovarian cancer is usually diagnosed only at a late stage, since its manifestation is often vague.

Experts have found that women with undiagnosed ovarian cancer tend to make frequent purchases of remedies for indigestion, including heartburn.

“In some cases, heartburn can be a sign of cancer,” London-based experts said.

Scientists have recommended that women who experience increased episodes of heartburn or indigestion consult a doctor and undergo a reproductive system examination.

Cancer Research UK also confirms that ovarian cancer can present as irritable bowel syndrome. Her experts advise women to pay attention to the following possible symptoms of ovarian cancer: a constant feeling of a swollen abdomen; need for frequent urination; discomfort in the abdomen or pelvis; fast satiety during meals.
