A dead sea lion appeared on the beach of Punta Blanca; merchants buried him

A dead sea lion was dragged to the Punta Blanca beach, belonging to the Santa Elena canton. The tourists who were in this spa saw that the animal was in an apparent state of decomposition.

That was also perceived by tour operators of this spa located on the San Pablo-Santa Elena road. With the help of shovels, a group of merchants dug a hole to bury the animal.

Waves of more than two meters will reach the continental and insular coast during the weekend

So far there is no pronouncement from any municipal authority or the Ministry of the Environment.

For this weekend, the Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (Inocar) warned of a high intensity surge that would bring waves of more than two meters high on the Ecuadorian coast, both continental and insular.

The strong waves registered for days have caused affectation in several locations.

In Salinas, Santa Elena province, seawater entered several nearby streets. The previous week the boardwalk was closed due to the strong waves.

Some 80 tons of sand and shell were removed from the main avenue of Salinas.

In San Jacinto, the force with which the waves broke also caused the water to enter the boardwalk and several streets.

This caused the Sucre cantonal Emergency Operations Committee (COE) to be declared on maximum alert, in the province of ManabĂ­.

Meanwhile, in Esmeraldas, inhabitants of coastal towns organized mingas to evacuate sand carried by the waves. (YO)
