The police departments will carry out operations in places that sell the institution’s uniforms so that they request a citizenship card and the identification of the agent who wants to purchase the clothing.

This is one of the actions that the Government has taken after cases of antisocials who use police suits to camouflage themselves and commit crimes.

One of those cases occurred over the weekend in the La Alborada citadel, where a false police officer participated in the attempted kidnapping of a man who was aboard his car.

“We have already arranged for the governorates so that, through municipalities, they can also carry out the operations…”, stressed the Minister of the Interior, Juan Zapata.

The police commander, Fausto Salinas, argued that they need differentiated legislation to be able to determine who can manufacture uniforms for that entity, penalties for those who use police suits illegally and that the penalties increase when a crime is committed with that type of clothing. .

He pointed out that they are developing the new design of the National Police uniform that will have two identification parameters: a QR code, which will be on the front of the uniform so that any control police officer can take a picture and know which police officer it is.

The second aspect is the license plate identification number that will also go with the police server number.

The possibility of placing chips or a code on the uniforms is also analyzed to know to whom the garment was delivered, where it was delivered in the event of a detachment of the QR code, which allows traceability.

The QR identification code plus the identification of the uniformed officer would also be placed on the vests.
