El Carmen, Manabi
The body of Jorge Adán Arias Cusme, 26, was found lifeless and in a state of decomposition at kilometer 2 of the side pass, belonging to the El Carmen canton, in Manabí.
According to relatives, Arias had been missing since Saturday, January 21.
This Tuesday the 24th, around 07:30, workers who were going to work reported finding the body among some bushes, in the back of the Restrepo sector, on the outskirts of the urban area.
Alejandro Zaldumbide, chief of the Police district of that jurisdiction, stated that, although he was in a state of decomposition, a gunshot wound to the head was observed.
The victim had no criminal record, although -according to authorities- he would have had drug addiction problems.
Yolanda Arias, sister of the deceased, stated that they told her that the deceased could be her brother and when she arrived at the site she verified that it was indeed Jorge.
The young man’s sister, known as El Chorrón, said they were unaware of the reasons for his death.
The Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) and Criminalistics conducted a review of the scene, lifted the corpse and transferred it to the forensic center in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
In the sector behind the Restrepo, three people have been found murdered this year, according to data provided by the Police.
In that area, on January 1, Leandro Montalván Zambrano was found with several bullet wounds; while on Friday the 13th, Darwin Vélez Cedeño was also found without vital signs, and without clothes. (YO)
