Family and friends of the young Argentine Rodrigo Salguero have launched a search campaign since the 26-year-old backpacker is missing in Ecuador.
Argentine media detailed that Salguero left Argentina in 2022 bound for Peru, where he worked for several months in a bar, and then continued through Ecuador. His goal was to get to Canada.

The young man had been robbed in the past days for which he lost his documents and his intention was to travel to Quito for which he made a stopover in Olmedo, in the province of Manabí. The Portal Mendoza Post explained that Rodrigo’s brother had received a communication from an employee of a hostel informing him that he had arrived on January 18, but that the next day he left and left his belongings.

The day before, he had communicated with his relatives indicating that he was going up to Quito.
A search campaign has been launched as well as to raise funds to be able to travel to Ecuador. Speaking to The AndesFacundo Bayarri, who collaborates in the search, pointed out that this also seeks to bring the required documentation closer.
Rodrigo’s brother will stay in Rivadavia to process any requirements they request in Ecuador. They pointed out that the Argentine embassy in Ecuador is already aware of the situation.
