The animation industry in the Russian Federation is faced with the problem of the expiration of licenses for the software necessary for work. According to RBC, Yulia Nemchina, CEO of the Riki group of companies, spoke about this.
Riki Group of Companies is known for the Smeshariki and Fixiki franchises.
Almost all companies involved in the animation industry, according to Nemchina, “sit” on international programs. “While we continue to work on the old licenses, they will be valid until the summer,” notes the head of Riki Group of Companies. “Further on, we can only hope that joint work with the relevant Ministry of Digital Development will help find new solutions.”
According to Nemchina, there are fewer problems with the fleet of equipment necessary for the production of cartoons. So, all the necessary hardware was purchased from the manufacturer Smeshariki back in 2021: “We traditionally predict the loading of our capacities for two or three years in advance, and even then we planned to increase production volumes,” she said.
