An informal taxi driver was injured this weekend for allegedly not paying the ‘vaccine’ to the gangs to be able to work in the Casuarina avenue sector, at the well-known entrance to 8.

The attack occurred at 1:00 p.m. this Sunday, January 22, in the Y sector, about 100 meters from the Perimetral highway.

The man was next to his car waiting for clients when a subject arrived to shoot him for allegedly not paying the January quota to be able to work in that sector, where dozens of murders have been reported in recent weeks.

“The taxi drivers would pay between 60 and 80 dollars each month,” said a person from the area who did not want to be identified for fear of reprisals.

A 20-year-old girl, identified as Shirley R., was also injured in the attack. She was near the victim’s vehicle and said that she saw the man who ran to shoot and she took refuge in a nearby restaurant.

Minutes later, Shirley noticed that her neck ached. There she was given her first aid and she was taken to the Mount Sinai hospital, as she had been hit by a bullet. The woman was injured in the cervical region, despite this she is stable.

The driver was also taken to a health home in the area and is under reserved prognosis, as he received six shots, one of them in the chest.
