Two men were murdered early Monday morning outside a bar in the Brisas del Mar citadel, in the Huaquillas canton.
The assassins killed Juan Sarango and Andrés Jaramillo Carrillo while they were talking. The perpetrators arrived in a vehicle and after descending they fired several times at these two citizens.
The death of Sarango and Jaramillo was instantaneous. Both had no criminal records.
Three people were riddled with bullets in El Oro in the span of seven hours
Between January 1 and 22, 2023 in the province of El Oro, 35 violent deaths were recorded, more than double the 17 murders that were reported in January 2022 throughout the province.
In 2022, 293 murders occurred in El Oro, that is, in 22 days of this year, about 13% of the total of all violent deaths reported in 2022 in this province were already registered, with eight days to go. for the end of January of this 2023.
With signs of torture, a communicator from El Oro was found dead
The canton with the most violent deaths is Machala, with 18, followed by Huaquillas and Pasaje, where five murders occurred in the first three weeks of January.
Meanwhile, in the cantons of Santa Rosa and Arenillas there were four and three violent deaths, respectively. (YO)
