In Krasnoyarsk, the former chairman of the PSK Soyuz company, Yuri Turov, was sentenced to three years in prison in the case of embezzlement of more than 91 million rubles intended to pay for utilities. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the prosecutor’s office of the region.
The court found that from 2015 to 2017, the defendant, being the head of an enterprise that managed 44 apartment buildings, squandered more than 91 million rubles received from the owners to pay for utilities. The funds were intended for settlements with resource-supplying organizations. The businessman spent the money at his own discretion, including paying off personal debt.
“Taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, the court found the man guilty, sentenced him to 3 years in prison with a sentence to be served in a correctional colony of general regime. He was taken into custody in the courtroom, ”the message says.
Yuri Turov was a member of the Krasnoyarsk City Council of the 2013-2018 convocation.
The verdict did not enter into force, the defendant pleaded not guilty. According to the prosecutor’s office, more than 80 million rubles in damages were compensated in civil proceedings.
