President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a law according to which the national leader of the Turkmen people, ex-president of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his family members have the right of inviolability, it also applies to his property and property owned by family members. It is reported by Interfax.
It is noted that on January 21, a joint meeting of the Parliament – Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan was held, at which it was decided to secure the status of the national leader for ex-president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
He headed the created supreme representative body of people’s power – Khalk Maslakhaty (People’s Council). Article 5 of the new law states that “The National Leader of the Turkmen people is a permanent member of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.”
The law also provides for the provision of state protection to the national leader and members of his family, the provision by the state of conditions for the implementation of activities, the protection of his rights and freedoms, life, honor and dignity. Also, the provision of official, housing, social, transport, communication, medical, sanatorium and other services to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, as well as material support, are carried out by authorized state bodies.
Obstruction of the lawful activity of the National Leader, his humiliation, actions against his honor and dignity entail responsibility.
Financing of expenses provided for by this law is carried out at the expense of the State budget of Turkmenistan.
