US Justice Department officials have unearthed a new batch of classified documents during searches of President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware. According to CNBC, his lawyer Rob Bauer told reporters about this.

The search took place on Friday, January 20, and lasted 12 hours. In total, six documents were found marked “confidential” and “related materials.” Bauer specified that some of the documents date back to when Biden was a senator (he represented Delaware from 1973 to 2009), and the other to his tenure as vice president (from 2009 to 2017).

Also, according to the lawyer, Department of Justice officials took away several handwritten notes made during Biden’s tenure as vice president.

Bauer specified that access to Biden’s private residence was provided at the suggestion of the president’s team in order to “move the process as quickly as possible.” The ministry asked that lawyers not announce investigative actions in advance. According to special adviser to the President of the United States Richard Sauber, the head of state and first lady Jill Biden were not present during the searches, they were conducted with lawyers and representatives of the White House.

It is noted that this is the third batch of secret documents discovered by investigators. The first was found in November 2022 at the Penn Biden Center and included U.S. intelligence reports and briefings on Ukraine, Iran, and the UK. The second batch was found in a warehouse in the garage of Biden’s home in Delaware, as well as in one of the rooms.
