The police commander, Fausto Salinas, announced this Saturday morning the capture of three presumed persons involved in the murder of a student at the University of Milagro.
The student’s crime was reported around 8:00 p.m. on Friday the 20th inside the Milagro State University (Unemi).
“The effectiveness of our specialized Dinased unit is reflected in the results obtained in less than 24 hours with the capture of three citizens, who would have participated in the violent death of a university student in Milagro,” said Salinas.
The Police posted photos of the three allegedly involved, in addition to the confiscated mobile phones and a car without license plates.
“Investigative work allowed the apprehension of three citizens, presumed involved in the crime of murder. @PoliciaEcuador, through #DINASED, continues to work for the resolution of this case,” he said.

Last night the murder shocked students from that study center and colleagues of the victim, identified as María Gema Moreira.
The victim’s body was left lying on a sidewalk near a parking area of that public university. Next to her was a pool of blood and a purple backpack.
Police units mobilized to the area to initiate investigations into the case. Likewise, authorities of the entity were present at the site and suspended academic activities.
The institution’s facilities were left with restricted access while the investigative units carried out the expertise.

In a statement, the Milagro State University regretted the violent act against a student.
“What happened is a reflection of the wave of violence that the country is going through, and as a university we will take extreme measures to provide security for our students,” the university indicated; and, in turn, demanded from the Police the protection and security that the students “need and deserve.”
So far this year, six violent deaths have been recorded in the Milagro canton. (YO)
