On the territory of the Voronezh region, it was forbidden to launch civilian drones. According to RBC with reference to the governor of the region Alexander Gusev, now only “separate authorities” and law enforcement agencies can do this.

It is reported that this decision was made following a meeting of the regional operational headquarters on the military operation in Ukraine.

“I understand that a number of business structures have part of their processes geared towards the use of drones. Therefore, we will accept applications from companies and enterprises with requests to use UAVs for peaceful purposes. And if such appeals are justified, we will issue permits on an individual basis,” Gusev added.

The Voronezh Region borders on the Lugansk People’s Republic, which became part of the Russian Federation in September. In early January, the Voronezh authorities reported that a reconnaissance drone launched from the territory of Ukraine was shot down by air defense systems.

The authorities of a number of other Russian regions have already banned launching drones: the Perm Territory, Kuban, Tatarstan, Crimea, the republics of Mari El and North Ossetia, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Tula, Saratov, Rostov, Volgograd, Orenburg, Kaluga and Kirov regions. In the Donetsk People’s Republic, such a ban was introduced in August, even before joining Russia.
