This Saturday and Sunday, the Vatican will host two important celebrations of the Christmas season. This generates the attention of Catholic faithful who are also living these moments in their different parishes.
The Vatican announced that Pope Francis will preside over both the midnight mass and the Urbi et Orbi blessing.
The Eucharist will be given at 7:30 p.m. (local time) and if you want to follow it live, it will be broadcast at 1:30 p.m. in Ecuador on the Vatican News YouTube channel. This will be Saturday December 24th.
When and where to see live the midnight mass that Pope Francis will preside over?
In the case of the Urbi et Orbi blessing, this is accompanied by the Christmas message from the Supreme Pontiff.
The blessing ‘Urbi et Orbi’ _which in Latin means ‘to the city (Rome) and to the world’_, grants the Catholic faithful the remission of penalties due for sins already forgiven.
Guilt for sin is remitted by the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession), so that the person is once again in grace of godfor which he will be saved if he does not fall into mortal sin again.
This blessing will take place in the central loggia of Saint Peter’s Basilica at 12:00 (local time). For the different countries the time will be:
- Ecuador: 06:00 a.m.
- Peru: 06:00 a.m.
- Colombia: 06:00 a.m.
- Mexico: 05:00 a.m.
- Venezuela: 07:00 a.m.
- Argentina: 08:00 a.m.
- Chile: 08:00 a.m.
It can be followed live on the Vatican News YouTube channel. (YO)
