The Spanish company MIP Cinco Transporte Iberoamerica SLU will acquire part of the capital that the companies Odinsa SA and Grupo Argos SA hold directly or indirectly over firms that operate in Ecuador linked to the airport business.

These companies are: Corporación Quiport SA and Quito Airport Management Quiamaecuador SA, which hold the concession for the administration of the Mariscal Sucre international airport in Quito.

According to the Market Power Control Superintendency, which authorized the notified economic concentration operation, the transaction implies a change of control that will grant MIP Cinco Transporte Iberoamerica SLU the ability to intervene in the course of the business.

Odinsa SA and Grupos Argos SA are of Colombian origin that are focused on the business of road and airport concessions.

The Superintendency considered that the transaction does not modify the structure and competitive scheme of the operation and maintenance services market in that air terminal.

According to the Quito airport website, the concession contract between the Municipality of Quito and Corporación Quiport grants the concessionaire the operation, administration, maintenance and improvement of the Quito airport service for 35 years, from 2006 to 2041. .
