Overflow of stream caused affectations in Nangaritza; mayor declared emergency

As a consequence of the recent rains, the overflow of the Guayzimi ravine caused damage in the center of the Nangaritza canton, in Zamora Chinchipe, this weekend.

Several areas of the central area of ​​the canton were found with material dragged by the flood. The mud with material entered several homes and commercial premises in that canton of Zamora Chinchipe. Initially it was estimated that about ten homes were affected.

Given this, the mayor of the canton, Freddy Armijos Pérez, and municipal officials toured several of the affected points.

After evidencing the damage, the mayor ordered the transfer of machinery and crews of workers to carry out the eviction of the material.

The principal of the canton indicated that an emergency will be declared to have economic resources and build a rockfill that mitigates future risks.
