A uniformed man from the Traffic and Mobility Agency (ATM) was shot in the leg by men to evade a traffic control on Marcel Laniado de Wind avenue, at the entrance of the Montebello market, north of Guayaquil.
The agent would have stopped them because the subjects were dressed as soldiers.
Colonel Fabary Montalvo, chief in charge of Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón), explained that the 31-year-old agent was checking a vehicle with four occupants.
Two ATM agents were injured during a pursuit of a vehicle in the south of the city
“They lower the windows and shoot him in the leg and run away,” explained the police chief.
He added that the uniformed officers carry out the verification on video surveillance cameras to obtain more details of this armed attack against the agent, who was assisted by paramedics from the Fire Department and taken to a private clinic where it was confirmed that his state of health was stable.
Uniforms from special groups have the characteristics of the vehicle where the occupants were going and investigations are being carried out, Montalvo reported.
At the site, ATM agents also went to control traffic in that area after that attack. (YO)
