The President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, showed on his Twitter account the faces of the seven arrested for the murder of the businessman Javier Rosero, who was president of the residents’ committee of the Los Ceibos citadel. The crime was perpetrated on the morning of this Friday, January 13.

The community leader, who was preparing to serve a second consecutive term as head of the committee, was assassinated in an area of ​​Los Ceibos when he was in his vehicle with his wife. He received several bullet wounds when he was driving his truck over an overpass.

After several raids, the Police announced this Saturday morning the capture of seven people linked to the homicide.

For his part, the president published on Twitter the photo of those apprehended and the role that each of them would have fulfilled in the murder of Rosero.

Based on the information shared by President Guillermo Lasso and Dinased, the alleged perpetrators participated in the murder with a rented vehicle and a motorcycle.

The latter was allegedly abandoned in Mapasingue Este and then fled in a gray Chevrolet Aveo car that was found during the raids in Durán, in the sector known as Recreo Viejo.

According to information provided by the Executive, this would be the participation:

– Jorge Enrique A. would be the custodian of the vehicle.

– Luis Fernando P., the intermediary to rent the car.

– Édison Mauricio Q. would have rented the car.

– Andy Josue L. would be the driver of the vehicle.

– Víctor Darwin S. has been identified as hitman 1, who carried out detonations.

– Robert Johel J. would have driven the motorcycle from which the victim was shot.

– Roberth Alexander A. would be the coordinator of the logistics of the crime.

“Yesterday (Friday) we condemned the attack on Javier Rosero, and we promised to find guilty. Today (Saturday), thanks to the Forces of Order, 7 involved are apprehended and will be placed under the orders of justice. This is a reminder to the mafias: if they act, we will respond,” the head of state wrote on Twitter.

The businessman’s crime shocked not only the residents of Los Ceibos, but the general public, since this 2023, in just fourteen days, has a homicide rate that already exceeds 60 cases.
