Ecuadorians will go to the polls on February 5, to designate 23 prefects, 23 vice-prefects, 221 mayors, urban councilors, rural councilors and main members of the parish councils. In order to make a knowledge of the proposals and an informed vote, the CNE holds debates between the candidates for the different dignities. The debate between the candidates for mayor of Cuenca will take place on sunday january 15 They will be divided into two groups.

The first group will start at 7:00 p.m. and the second at 8:35 p.m. In Cuenca there are 9 candidates who will present their proposals to become the new mayor of the capital of Los Azuayos, one of them seeks re-election and in the electoral race there is only one female candidate.
The first group will be made up of: Verónica Abad (Amigo), Adrián Castro (Democracia Sí-Pachakutik), Paúl Carrasco (reto alliance, Creo, Centro Democrático, Pueblo Igualdad y Democracia), Pedro Palacios (Nueva Generación) and Roque Ordóñez (Citizen Revolution).
The second group will be made up of: Cristian Zamora (Democratic Left), Mario Castro (With You-Avanza.), Omar Álvarez (Renace) and Jaime Moreno (Equality-Participate).
The event will be moderated by Hernán Samaniego. The debate for candidates for mayor of Cuenca will be broadcast on the Facebook site of the Provincial Electoral Delegation of Azuay. (YO)
