A girl was born inside a taxi from the Rómulo Santana cooperative in the Montecristi canton, and in view of this fact, the partners of this transport company decided to give her some gifts.
The incident occurred last Monday. The taxi driver Víctor Carrillo sped up his car after Sandy made a call to the cooperative requesting a unit, since she was in labor and asked that they take her to the Manta canton to bring her second daughter into the world.
The mother lives in the Aníbal San Andrés parish, in the north of Montecristi, but a few seconds after she got into the taxi, the pain came more frequently.
The family member who accompanied her told her that she had better guide the transport unit to a clinic located about three kilometers from where the woman resides, but they had barely traveled 800 meters when the girl left the mother’s body.

Surprised, Carrillo decided first to help the mother calm her down and then go to the Center for Good Living, located in the Aníbal San Andrés parish, where they cared for the mother and the newborn.
This Wednesday, the driver who helped the mother get the baby to the first aid point without problems went together with members of the Rómulo Santana taxi cooperative to deliver gifts to the mother.
Lizandro Ramírez, president of the taxi cooperative, indicated that within the institution they valued the tranquility and effort of his partner who helped the mother get to the place where she was given first aid after the girl was born without any major setbacks.
Four children were born between the last hours of 2022 and the first hours of 2023
“We are always willing to help, and this was a more than special occasion. And our job will always be to lend a hand to whoever needs it,” declared Ramírez.
The president of the cooperative does not rule out that the taxi driver who drove the mother is the godfather of the newborn. And if that is the case, he indicated that Carrillo will again be willing to offer his spiritual support to the girl who was born inside the taxi. (YO)
