A 26-year-old young man was murdered by hitmen on Wednesday night in front of his mother.
It happened in a house in the Nueva Prosperina sector, in the northwest of Guayaquil.
Eight men arrived in the sector on a motorcycle and forcibly entered the house where the victim was.

Inside, the gunmen shot the young man several times in front of his mother, who escaped unharmed.
Police units arrived at the scene to obtain versions and try to find those responsible.
The shots alarmed the neighbors, who for fear did not leave their houses until after the police arrived.
