Carlos Omar K., who was attacked with rifles while driving an armored vehicle last Friday in the Kennedy citadel, was released early this Wednesday morning at Omni Hospital, after an armed attack that took place inside this center doctor.
The man was the target of the attack by hitmen who entered the hospital this morning. In the middle of the confrontation, a man was killed. He would be one of the hit men who were repelled by the guards of Carlos Omar K.
Health personnel explained that the patient arrived with shrapnel injuries from the first attack he suffered last Friday. Due to the fact that the vehicle was armored, the impacts from the rifles caused the glass debris to cause minor injuries.
Hitmen enter the clinic and confront the guards of a man who had been wounded in an armored car at Kennedy; one died in attack
They noted that he was already stable and close to being discharged when this attack occurred, so this process was finished so that the patient could continue his recovery at home.
This was confirmed by the chief (e) of the Zone 8 Police (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón), Fabary Montalvo, who explained that, after the exchange of bullets between the hit men and the guards of Carlos Omar K., he was discharged medical.
“The person, after the fact, was released from the hospital. He was transferred by his relatives to his home ”, explained Montalvo.
He added that he could not be detained because they have no current complaint against him, despite the processes that are evident in the Judicial Branch system for extortion, drug trafficking, breach of trust and wrongful death.
He noted that two young foreigners who were custodians of this patient were arrested and that in an exchange of bullets they ended the life of one of the hitmen; and that, after the patient left the hospital, there was no further contact with him.
Statements were taken from security and health personnel about this armed event that shocked the public, since, despite the hospital’s private security, subjects managed to enter and an armed confrontation ensued. (YO)
