The Minister of the Interior, Juan Zapata, confirmed this Wednesday that there are two subjects detained after the armed attack reported this Wednesday at the Omni Hospital, in the north of Guayaquil.
Hitmen entered that clinic this morning to apparently try to kill Carlos Omar K., a 35-year-old man who was wounded last Friday when he was driving in an armored car on Kennedy.

Zapata held on ecuavisa that the subjects entered the hospital with a rifle and high-powered weapons. He said that there are two detainees, although he did not specify who they were.
In the armed attack, a man died, who was left lying inside an elevator. Initially it was thought that he would have been one of the custodians of Carlos Omar K., who was hospitalized in that health home.
However, hours later, the Police indicated that he was one of those who entered looking for Carlos Omar K.

The Interior Minister indicated that many of the violent deaths are due to clashes between criminal groups over power struggles.
“That makes many opposing gangs want to end what they started when the final result does not end in violent death,” he said when referring to this fact.
This attack on a hospital occurs in the midst of a code that was established to prevent this type of armed acts in health homes.
Silver Code for health establishments includes five forms of care in the event of armed incursions.
“The code is working, that’s why there are detainees, there are police actions, but you have to understand that these gangs enter with 20 people, they enter with high-caliber weapons, they are quite difficult confrontations,” Zapata said.
Around 10:00 a.m., President Guillermo Lasso posted photos of those captured on Twitter and said that the activation of the Silver Code allowed the Police to act forcefully so that these criminals do not go unpunished. “Let this be a message for all the mafias: we will respond,” he said when sharing the photo.
