According to the Risk Management Secretariat, citing the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School (EPN), since 09:16 the fall of light ash in those areas has been confirmed.
“According to satellite images, the emission could also generate ash fall in the province of Cotopaxi,” said the Geophysicist, which is the entity that monitors the volcano, in a statement.

Before the fall of ash it is recommended to take measures such as the following:
– Go out only if necessary and avoid overexposure.
– Wear a mask or any utensil to cover the nose and mouth.
– Avoid rubbing your eyes.
– Wash your face with clean water periodically if it is exposed to the environment.
