Cultural and recreational activities in Quito for this weekend

after one short work week, taking into account the holiday of the Day of the Dead and Independence of Cuenca, the capital has offered a varied series of activities to carry out the first weekend of November.

The Municipality of Quito, through the Ministry of Culture reported that it maintains a museum visit reactivation plan from the historic center and iconic places of this old town.

These are the activities for the weekend:

Solidarity museums program

The City Museums Foundation (FMC) and the Quito Food Bank (BAQ) joined forces in the ‘Solidarity Museums. This program will allow visitors of the cultural spaces managed by the Foundation exchange non-perishable food for tickets.

The collected food will be delivered to the BAQ to be distributed to the priority attention groups to which this organization provides assistance.

The initiative will be carried out all on Fridays from November 5 to December 31, 2021 in the following places: Yaku Parque Museo del Agua, Interactive Science Museum, Museo del Carmen Alto and Museum of the City. The Contemporary Art Center, having free access, will receive voluntary contributions.

Visitors can exchange museum tickets for the following foods:

  • 500 grams of rice, lentils, beans, or oats.
  • 200 grams of powdered milk.
  • 180 grams of canned food (for example, a can of tuna). (I)
