Several raids occurred this morning for the apprehension of six suspects.

In the early hours of this Friday, the 5th, uniformed members of the National Police in Tungurahua, in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, carried out six raids in order to dismantle a criminal organization allegedly dedicated to the theft of vehicle accessories and auto parts for later commercialization.
Colonel Marco Muñoz, commander of Subzone 18, and Lieutenant Colonel Luis del Pozo, chief of the Tungurahua Judicial Police, offered details about these interventions carried out within the Impact 820 operation.
Lieutenant Colonel Luis del Pozo, chief of the Tungurahua Judicial Police, explained that the raids began at 03:00 in five buildings in sectors of Letamendi, the Wholesale market, Troya Park and Izamba, after more than three months of investigative tasks. There were seven detainees.
He argued that the work carried out made it possible to demonstrate the relationship of the detainees with the criminal acts that were being investigated, such as the illicit association, for the theft of vehicle parts and their subsequent sale.
In the operation, which had the participation of twelve public prosecutors and 64 police officers, seven people were arrested. Among those apprehended are Luis R. (34), who has four records for robbery, qualified, abuse of weapons, illicit association and robbery and also Luis E. Ch. With judicial records for robbery.
In addition, Yéssica V. (28) was arrested, with previous arrests for theft, trafficking of substances subject to control and injuries to relatives or spouse. The rest of those implicated are Marilyn G., Jasmine P., Lourdes N. and Wilson E., who do not maintain records.
As evidence, a revolver-type firearm of industrial manufacture, a truck-type vehicle, various clothing items, twelve mobile terminals, jewelry, money in different denominations ($ 1,034) and 77 automotive parts were seized, which were admitted to the headquarters of the Judicial Police under chain of custody.
The officer reported that the charges against the detainees had been held since noon. Preventive detention was ordered for two of those apprehended and alternative measures for the rest. The judicial process continues since it was determined that the fiscal instruction will last 90 days, within which the corresponding proceedings will be carried out. (I)
