At 12:30 p.m. this Friday, a shooting was reported on Miguel H. Alcívar avenue, in the Kennedy Norte citadel.
Hitmen who arrived in a white van blocked the path of a high-end car that was driving down the street.
The vehicle, which is armored, has more than 25 bullet wounds.
The driver, who was accompanied by a woman, was injured and was taken in a patrol car to a health home.
No details of his state of health are known, but in an amateur video it was possible to see that the wounded man walked out of his car with the help of his companion.
“They started shooting at him, but he tried to get out and even collided with the hitmen, but four men with rifles and Uzis shot at him,” said a messenger who was driving around on his motorcycle. He claimed that he took cover behind a truck. “They looked like cameras that were bursting,” said the witness, still scared.
The manager of a savings cooperative was shot while driving on the main avenue of Durán
About 150 meters from that point, another man was hit by a bullet. It would be the worker of a car yard. This collateral victim was taken aboard a private van to a hospital.
The man was accompanied by his colleagues, who put him in the bucket of the truck.
The young man had a chest wound and died shortly after in a nursing home.
Minutes after the attack, two people were arrested aboard a white van about eight blocks from the crime scene. They would be the hitmen that the uniformed men were looking for.
Several weapons were seized from them; some are 7.62 caliber rifles, according to the uniformed officers.
It was also known that a person would have been run over in the Kennedy citadel by hitmen when they were fleeing from the police.
During the morning of this Friday, at least four murders have been reported in Guayaquil and Durán.
There are already 26 cases in Zone 8 until January 6. (YO)
