Trips in the Quito Metro are suspended due to a fall in the scheduling system

The start of free travel on the Quito Metro trains was suspended this Thursday, January 5, due to a problem with the computer system that would allow users to schedule.

Phase two was scheduled to start this Thursday morning so that users learn about the operation of this rail transport.

However, users, who had to schedule their trips from midnight, were unable to access the system.

Roberto Custode, operations manager of the Quito Metro, pointed out that they are working on the solution, although they are still unaware of it. “It could be a minor flaw, but on the technological issue we have to completely analyze the system,” he added.

He also announced that they plan to restore the system in the next 48 hours. However, he pointed out that the trips will most likely start on Monday, January 9.

The operator of the Quito Metro will be able to select among 244 technicians graduated in Ecuador, personnel for the project

According to Custode, this delay will not mean a problem for the start of commercial operations, scheduled for the first days of March. Until then, he said that they will be able to complete close to a million trips, which would mean the necessary load for the commercial phase to start.

Four mayors, nine managers and a series of postponements: the Quito Metro, after nine years, will start up with pending issues

Meanwhile, users will be able to continue with guided visits to the stations, without access to the trains. (YO)
