The incident with a missile hitting Poland indicates the need to improve the European air defense system (air defense), German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht said in an interview with the Rheinishen Post, RBC reports.
Lambrecht stressed that NATO’s air defense system must be improved. “This is especially true of NATO partners such as Poland, Slovakia and the Baltic countries, which directly border Russia and Ukraine,” she added.
According to the minister, Germany offered Poland assistance in the form of Eurofighter fighters and American Patriot air defense systems. Germany is already providing similar assistance to Slovakia, the contract is planned to be extended until the end of 2023.
